Day 14 – Jane DO Valentine’s Day Workout

Jane DO DUET-ALL Valentine's Day Workout

Happy Valentine’s Day! I pushed off pilates yet again for a double date with Dani and Tyler – a double workout date that is! Dani is an instructor for a local studio, Jane DO. I saw a last minute email come through with a free Valentines day workout for you and your favorite partner (mom, friend, or dog too) and knew this was the right workout for today.

What is Jane DO?

As I mentioned, Jane DO is a local studio to Hoboken, they have four locations in the NYC area. It was started by two former Radio City Rockettes – you all know how I feel about my dance background! Each class is taught by women for women, fusing aerobics, strength training, and flexibility into each class. Every instructor shows up to each class full of personality to ensure a fun workout. Jane DO is mostly known for their trampoline classes (at least that is how I first discovered the studio). They also offer their classic Train Jane which is a fun cardio workout sure to hit every muscle group along with 3 other classes.

What do I need?

You don’t need any equipment for this one. I asked Ben to workout with me for Valentines Day (I knew he couldn’t say no) and I officially had a partner! Ben doesn’t typically like to join in my usual workouts because they are over zoom and he hates being on camera. I understand that working out is a very personal thing, but the instructors need to be able to see you to help you correct your form! Luckily for him, this class was a Youtube live so no cameras required!

How was it?

We didn’t really know what to expect when the class started. Jane DO was live straight from Dani and Tyler’s home, even their dog wanted to get in on the class! Ben and I both laughed so hard. Tyler was goofy and just following his own beat. We mostly stuck to what Dani was instructing while laughing at Tyler.

This workout was truly great for pairs – they included some dual plank / squat sets, plank and jump-over sets, and a leg-lift crunch set. They offered modifiers for every workout so that you could do them on your own as well.

Should I try Jane DO?

100% YES! If you want a high energy class, then this is the studio for you! While Jane DO is currently just located in the NYC area, they offer livestream workouts for all.

Overall Rating: I loved this class and highly recommend this studio. Ben dipped out after 20 minutes to ride the bike but is saying that he is sore from his Jane DO workout. I tell you these “girl-geared” workouts are no joke my friends.
