Low Impact Workout Essentials

Wednesdays are my favorite day of the work-week! As part of my hybrid work schedule, it’s the first day that I get to work from home, which means sleeping in a little later! My second reason for loving Wednesdays is that I have non-cardio / HIIT workouts. That’s why today, I am sharing my low impact workout essentials!

What did you wear today?

First of all, you would be proud of me for only wearing ONE outfit today. It’s 9:30pm right now and I am just feeling like I need to change. I will make it just a it longer before I climb into my pjs- this is a one outfit day!

Most of my workouts are Tabatta style, which means that I am getting sweaty and need the right sports bra, high waisted leggings with zero chance of slipping, and a tank that is more fitted or can be tucked so it doesn’t get int the way. However, on Wednesdays my two workouts are a glutes workout and an arms workout. As I opened the closet today, I found myself gravitating towards my favorite low impact workout essentials – an Old Navy tank with an open back, grey heathered leggings and a matching sports bra. Gym clothes truly don’t have to match, but I always appreciate when they look semi-coordinated!

I picked up this tank top in three colors the year I found it at Old Navy. Each one has a designated legging and sports bra that I only wear together. Is that crazy? I feel crazy? I just did a quick search to see if I could find anything compatible to link for you, but no such luck. These Mondetta leggings came from TJ Maxx – probably in the year 2017 or 2018. I have picked up some not-so-great pairs from TJ Maxx before that don’t have enough compression and slide or roll down but these ones are great! The strappy sports bra is from Pink. You’d be surprised, their sports bras can have good compression. You just have to dig through their semi-annual sales bins to find them!

What did you donate?

Today I said good-bye to a grey t-shirt from Old Navy that has been sitting on that hanger for far too long. I’m not even sure how it survived my move last summer. Don’t get me wrong, t-shirts have their time and place, but this one wasn’t seeing the outside of my home, let alone my closet like it should be. Day 14 and still going strong with donations my friends.

Today’s Key Takeaway

This wouldn’t be a proper blog post if there wasn’t a key takeaway here (other than pure entertainment of course). Today’s donation suggestion is Free the Girls!

I figured since we were talking about my Victoria’s Secret sports bras, it would be nice to know of a charity that accepts bras. If you are looking for a place to donate your old bras (in decent condition of course!), Free the Girls collects them! This organization brings economic opportunity to survivors of sex trafficking in places like Mozambique and El Salvador. Free the Girls gives your donated bras to survivors who can re-sell the bras in their local markets to help earn an income for themselves and their families. You can donate 5 bras at a time. Find a location here to drop-off your gently used bras or you can ship them to the headquarters in Indiana!

How are you cleaning your closet? Where are your favorite places to donate clothes? I’d love to hear more!

xoxo
