TRILLFIT SCULPT

Wrapping up this week of trendy workouts with TRILLFIT! Since I did 305 Fitness out of Miami and TRILLFIT out of Boston, I figured I am COVERED for dropping in around the world this week! My friend has been telling me that TRILLFIT is making a big name for themselves in Boston so I was excited to check it out!

Who is TRILLFIT?

TRILLFIT is a black woman-owned boutique fitness studio that was created after noticing the lack of diversity in Boston’s fitness world. Truthfully most of the fitness scene in the US lacks diversity. They offer 8 signature classes with the commitment to deliver fitness and wellness opportunities to local neighborhoods. They invest in the training and development of 20 instructors of color annually and work with local organizations to improve the health of communities of color, donating a percentage of revenues back into these communities. I know TRILLFIT has the potential to grow nationwide with their strong mission!

How was TRILLFIT SCULPT?

SCULPT is TRILLFIT’s signature strength training class which focuses on full body toning. This class focused on the legs and booty with a little added cardio and abs. It actually reminded me of a barre or pilates class because of the slow movement counts as opposed to the HIIT intervals I typically experience in classes, like Kayla Itsines BBG.

We started with a quick warmup before moving into the leg and booty circuits. There are some squats and pulse sets (similar to Barre) but overall the class moved at a slower pace. If you are a beginner, this would probably be the first workout I recommend just because of the pacing. The instructor did a great job of explaining each exercise. All of the other girls in the video showed not just one, but TWO modifications that you could do for each move. VERY IMPRESSIVE, truly a great learning tool and great way to ease into working out.

After the leg sets, we moved into a cardio circuit of football runs and jumping jacks. It wasn’t too difficult, but a nice way to get the heart rate up. We progressed to the abs with some plank series and crunches. Again everything was at a slower pace and allowed for modifications!

Would you do it again?

Overall Rating: Absolutely! I truly LOVE the mission of TRILLFIT and I am excited to watch them grow. They are making huge strides in the fitness world, and even the world of overall health and wellness. This workout was on the easier side for me, but I enjoyed the variety in exercise movements. Truthfully, my body is exhausted from working out 20 days in a row so I appreciated the lighter day. I definitely want to try out their Cardio Boxing class – I can already tell that one will kick my butt!
