A Year of 30 Day Challenges

Looking back at 2021 and all I can think is WOW, what a year! This year I set out to tackle a Year of 30 Day Challenges. Many of you have been following along for a lot of this journey and let me tell you it has been a year to remember!

In 2021 I have eaten 30 different dinners, completed 30 different workouts, learned 30 life hacks, wore 30 different outfits, learned 30 different languages, ran 30 1-mile routes, enjoyed 30 days of self-care, listened to 30 different podcasts, completed 30 acts of kindness, visited 30 new places, practiced 30 consecutive days of gratitude, and met 30 strangers! I can truly say that I made every single day count this year.

So what started this whole thing?!

After a series of gloomy conversations in 2020, I wanted to complete a year of 30 Day Challenges to show people that you can truly make EVERY SINGLE DAY interesting and exciting doing the most mundane things that most of us already do every day. This past year of challenges however, had more than just a “lets spice up life” goal for me – it was about consistency and follow-through. I can tell you that I know my weakness is follow-through. 🙈 Documenting this entire year on a public blog and Instagram forced me to actually show up every single day for 365 days. Talk about a real challenge.

What did you learn?

On the upside, these might be the best things I’ve learned along the way:

1. I learned how to build a freaking website from a YouTube video – talk about amazing.

2. It is HARD to stay consistent at a single task for 30 days in a row. And once I finally got in the groove with a blog post flow or instagram reel strategy, it was time to change it all up again and start from scratch.

3. It’s OK to have no idea what you are doing. Show up anyway.

4. It’s a lot harder to find pockets of time to work on your blog when you are back in the office (apologies to my email list) 😂

5. On top of blogging in ALL of my free time, I have somehow squeezed in 3 courses on Pinterest, Blogging, and running an Etsy shop – I’ve learned SO MUCH!

6. Working out every single day was exhausting for my body – don’t forget to stretch and take your rest days!

7. People are ALWAYS watching what you do and don’t do. I promise, you inspire people when you show up, even if they never mention it to you.

8. When you are in action, even if it feels like you are dragging through the mud, you are moving forward.

9. SEO is no joke – and completely changing the topic of your blog really hurts you in the eyes of Google!

On that note, I will be signing off with my Year of 30 Day Challenges and shifting Fearlessly Fit and Free to be a blog that focuses more on your overall health and wellbeing. You all know that is something I love helping others to enjoy as well!

Despite what has been going on around the world, 2021 has truly been an amazing year with so many lessons that I will carry with me. Hope you enjoyed the ride and maybe were even inspired to try a challenge of your own for 30 days! Stay tuned for all that is to come in 2022 1f973.png
