Happy Friday, or Happy Good Friday that is! I am so excited to have a day off, which of course was spent in my office, working on my blog! I promise there is more fun content coming your way! I don’t usually workout on Fridays, contrary to popular belief when I worked-out every day in February for a month of 28 Different Workouts. I skipped my workout yesterday so I figured today I would be working out on a Friday!
What did you wear today?
As you saw yesterday, I really have an abundance of clothing so I have made it my goal to wear as much as I can in 30 days and then donate A LOT of it at the end of the month. Since I was actually working out today, I put on a pair of my blue Athleta leggings and a tank I snagged from work(perks of working in the fashion industry mean unlimited amounts of free clothing which probably doesn’t help my closet situation). The leggings probably need to be recycled to a better place since the inner crotch has piled like crazy from working out-maybe TMI but it’s real life.
Post barre workout and shower I slipped on this cozy sweater and my Yogalicious leggings from yesterday (maybe bad of me?). In my defense I have multiple pairs of these Yogalicious leggings. My mom taught me that you should always buy duplicates of the clothes/shoes you love because they might not have them again next year. As someone who works in the fashion industry, I can tell you a secret. If the item sells well, you definitely we be able to find it again next year. The only thing is that we
usually make a slight variation to make it a “fresher” version of what is selling now. The only exception is if the item is a true “core” piece. Otherwise you won’t be able to find the exact style again.
As for the sweater, I started following a girl on instagram who posts all of these Amazon deals in her stories (which is very dangerous for someone who enjoys shopping as much as I do). She posts A LOT of flash deals! I actually bought this oversized sweater in white and grey (this is how my mom has taught me to shop, OK?) and even got one for my sister in a light blue for Christmas. We both LOVE how soft and cozy it is to wear. Would recommend ordering your true size and throwing it through the dyer once to shrink it down slightly. It is VERY oversized and I generally love oversized.
What did you donate?
Today I passed on another pair of shorts from the year 2010. It’s hard to believe that I also purchased these my freshman year of college really just to lounge around in. Who even knows the last time I wore these so to the donation bag they go.
Today’s Key Takeaway
This wouldn’t be a proper blog post if there wasn’t a key takeaway here (other than pure entertainment of course). This week I’ll be dropping different places that you can donate your clothes!
Goodwill – Goodwill is one of my favorite places to donate clothes to and find a few good steals of my own in there! They are one of the most well-known places to donate. Did you know that anything they can’t re-sell they actually forward to recycling centers to avoid anything ending up in a landfill? Goodwill also uses all revenue to provide career services and help individuals find employment. You can find a drop box or physical location to donate to Goodwill here.
How are you cleaning your closet? Where are your favorite places to donate clothes? I’d love to hear more!
xoxo
