Wednesdays are my favorite workout days because it’s glutes day! Not that I don’t love all of my other workouts with Beyond the Movements, but this class has more of the pilates vibes that I enjoy. You can probably already guess what I am wearing today 🙈
OK, what did you wear for Glutes Day?
So funny you should ask! These are my favorite Old Navy elevate leggings– the amount of times that I have worn them this month is even shocking to me. I must have so many pairs! This is the same Old Navy tank that I wore last week in pink, but this time in navy! What I love about this cross-back shirt is that the back is open. This was seriously one of my favorite go-to barre outfits back when I was actually attending in-person classes. As much as I love this outfit, this one is a little tougher for HIIT or cardio workouts since the back of the tank top is loose. For glutes day though, it’s just right!
I wore another college sweatshirt over this outfit. At this point in the month, I’m not even sure if I’ve worn it already. I had a great system for tracking hoodies early on (because who washes those after one wear?!) but that system has failed me and now they’re all just thrown on the shelf in my closet. I think I’ve worn almost all of them- fingers crossed! Anyways, on glutes day I typically start off the class wearing a sweatshirt and then de-layer as we go. We use these awesome resistance bands on glutes day – another reason I like the class, so similar to pilates! In barre and pilates, it’s common to use resistance bands as you pulse your body in small movements. I snagged these resistance bands on Amazon last summer. They come in 4 different weights so you can start heavier and lighten up later in your workout if needed!
What did you donate?
Remember when I said that not all leggings at TJ Maxx are for working out? This was yet another pair of leggings that I purchased when I was training for my first half marathon – I was such a running newbie back then! I was just so excited to find a pair of leggings with a pocket on them – this is before pockets were everywhere, ok?! Anyways they have pockets with a side laser cut panel all the way up the leg – another thing I didn’t realize. Once I took them on their first run, I knew it was a mistake. My phone felt too heavy in the pocket to run without pulling the leggings down. I’ve probably only worn them a handful of times since then. Definitely time to donate.
Today’s Key Takeaway
This wouldn’t be a proper blog post if there wasn’t a key takeaway here (other than pure entertainment of course). Today’s donation suggestion is Project G.L.A.M.
Doing a totally 180º from our glutes day and workout clothing, I found this awesome charity called Project G.L.A.M. They accept old prom or formal dresses (that lets bee real- you probably wore once, maybe twice) for girls who can’t afford to dress up for their formal events. They accept only dresses that are in good condition, nothing older than ten years. You can drop off your old dresses at a chapter near you!
How are you cleaning your closet? Where are your favorite places to donate clothes? I’d love to hear more!
